We’ve all seen photos of beautiful açaí bowls on Instagram. They’re colorful, adorned with fruit and look picture perfect. These bowls also taste way too good to actually be healthy, but they are great for you. Living in Michigan, it can be difficult to find a restaurant that specializes in such a trendy food, but it’s easy to make an açaí bowl that is both delicious and photogenic from the comfort of your own home. Here is my favorite recipe.
2 packets unsweetened frozen açaí
1 cup frozen mixed berries (I used strawberries, raspberries and blackberries)
1 cup non-dairy milk (I used coconut milk)
2 tbsp. almond butter
Your favorite granola
Blend all ingredients until smooth and distribute into two bowls. Garnish with your favorite toppings, photograph and enjoy.
How To Photograph It:
My favorite photo apps are Huji and VSCO. Huji mimics the effects of a disposable camera and makes your photos look perfectly nostalgic, complete with lense flares and the date you took the photo. VSCO has preset filters and different editing tools that are sure to make any photo look beautiful. My favorite presets are C1 and HB2.
